Oct 15, Colombo: Second team of the Sri Lankans overstayed in Kuwait arrived today at the Bandaranaike International Airport using the government sponsored air tickets.
Today's team consisted of 77 overstayed Sri Lankans while the third team of 230 Sri Lankans is expected within this week according to the flight schedules.
However, Foreign Ministry sources anticipate several thousands of Sri Lankans are still overstaying in Kuwait with no plans to leave. Foreign Ministry fears of serious punishments to all overstaying Sri Lankans as the Kuwaiti government’s amnesty period for all foreigners without proper visas to leave the country expired today.
