* Sri Lanka Ministry of Foreign Affairs assists overstaying workers to return

Oct 13, Colombo: Sri Lanka Ministry of Foreign Affairs is providing assistance to expatriate workers staying illegally in Kuwait to return home.

Kuwait has provided a grace period until October 31 for overstaying migrant workers to return to their countries without being punished.

Sri Lanka Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent 2,000 air tickets to be distributed through the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait for the benefit of the workers expecting to return to the home country, Ministry sources said. Four Ministry officials also have flown to Kuwait to assist the Embassy staff in this regard.
