Oct 11, Colombo: Sri Lanka judiciary issued an injunction to Wimal Weerawansa, the breakaway former propaganda secretary of Marxist People's Liberation Front and Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekara to hold the fourth national congress of Patriotic National Movement (PNM).

Colombo District judge Sisira Ratnayake issued the injunction considering a petition of Dambara Amila Thero and six others, who claimed the membership of PNM.

The petition is to be publicized through newspapers by the petitioners with the permission of the courts.

PNM was previously acted as an affiliate of the JVP but split following the party’s internal rift.
