Oct 10, Colombo: Government of Sri Lanka has appointed Solicitor General Hemantha Priyashath Dep as the new acting Attorney General with immediate effect.
He was appointed to fill the vacated post of C.R. De Silva who was retired by the Supreme Court of Colombo with the cancellation of the gazette notification issued by the President Mahinda Rajapaksa in extending the term of state employees to work beyond the age of 60.
Hemantha Priyashath Dep has 30 years of work experience at the Attorney General’s Department.
