Nov 28, Kandana: The Police have recovered a pair of shoes each containing explosives at Kapuwatte in Kandana, along the Colombo - Negombo highway last night.

According to the Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekara, the police found the shoes acting on a call given to the emergency number, 119, by a resident in the area.

Police said that each shoe contained some of C-4 explosives and the Army bomb disposal squad diffused them.

Kandana police are conducting further investigations.
