Nov 22, Colombo: Widening the problems between the doctors and himself Health Minister of Sri Lanka, Nimal Siripala De Silva says the health workers should be brave as the security forces in the country.
Speaking at a special function held in Colombo this morning the Minister pointed out that Sri Lankan health workers always try to withdraw from their work if any incident happens.
Ruling out these decisions the minister said it might be very harmful to the innocent patients of the country as well as them.
“Working amid heavy resistance is health workers’ responsibility," the Minister stressed.
Following the murder of their colleague in a hospital in the East, the doctors attached to the hospitals in the country’s North and East are threatening to withdraw if the government cannot provide sufficient security to them.
