* Food convoy to the IDPs in Northern Sri Lanka resumes its journey

Nov 21, Vavuniya: After a slight delay of few days due to the checkpoint dispute, the Sri Lankan government started the delivery of food and essential items to the displaced in Wanni this morning.

According to the sources in Vavuniya 56 trucks carrying the food and other essential items left Vavuniya today to the uncleared areas.

The food convoy carrying 585 metric tons of food and other essential items for the displaced persons in Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts has been delivered by the government and the United Nation world Food Programme officials.

Due to the absence of the International Committee of Red Cross officials at the Omanthai entry and exit check point in Vavuniya the food convoy was delayed few days.
