Nov 20, Jaffna: The people in Northern Jaffna peninsula have celebrated the government forces' victory for the first time in Sri Lankan history.
Sources in Jaffna said the residents have organized walking parades for the second day to celebrate the victory achieved by the Army in capturing Pooneryn and the A32 Highway few days ago.
It is reported that the national flag was also hosted by the Jaffna people to pay their respects to the war heroes who are currently engaged in heavy fighting to liberate the Northern part of the country.
The people of the Jaffna peninsula held a celebrating walk yesterday also with a procession of three wheelers hoisting national flags and shouting victory slogans.
