Nov 19, Colombo: Sri Lankan Navy arrested another group of Indian fishermen last evening for entering the country's waters illegally.
Sri Lanka Navy sources said that they have arrested 17 Indian fishermen with their 4 trawlers off Kaithady sea area in Northern Jaffna peninsula.
The fishermen are now in the custody of the Kaithady police.
Sri Lankan officials hope to take legal action against the fishermen after discussing the issue with the Indian authorities.
India has detained 65 Sri Lankan fishermen in Andhra Pradesh and another 15 are being held in Tuticorin.
