Nov 19, Colombo: Sri Lanka Minister of Foreign Affairs Rohitha Bogollagama said that the families of the persons died while working abroad have been paid Rs. 93 million as compensation this year.
The money for the compensations has been transferred by the respective countries to the families of the deceased through the government of Sri Lanka.
The Minister revealed these facts addressing a function held in the parliament to grant compensations for the families of the persons killed while working abroad. Thirteen families were paid Rs. 3.9 million each as damage.
