* New police stations in recently captured areas in northern Sri Lanka

Nov 18, Colombo: Sri Lanka police sources say that plans are underway to set up police stations in recently captured areas in the Northern Province of the country.

Accordingly, a new police station will be set up in Pooneryn, the strategic point in northwestern coast captured by the state security forces last week.

The police officers to be deployed in these police stations are now being chosen, police sources say.
