* RSF urges Sri Lankan authorities to release Tamil radio manager
Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 4:11 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Nov 18, Colombo: Reporters Without Borders urges the Sri Lankan authorities to release the General Manager of Tamil Radio Station 'Vetri FM' A. R. V. Loshan, who was arrested at his home in the capital Colombo on Saturday, 15th November.

The senior radio presenter was arrested by the Terrorist Investigation Department (TID) on charges of alleged links with terrorists and for aiding in terrorist activities.

The global press freedom organisation said the TID allegations against him of having "links with terrorists" and "aiding terrorist activities" should be based on evidence and not on simple conjecture.
