Nov 18, Batticaloa: Newly appointed Chief Minister of the Eastern Province Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan today presented his debut budget, aiming for a huge development in the province.
The authorities in the province hope to allocate nearly Rs.1.4 billion for the development of roads and infrastructure in the Eastern province for the year 2009.
It is reported that they will look forward for an additional Rs.444 million from foreign donor agencies to develop the important fields in the province.
Chief Minister Chandrakanthan hopes to develop education, health services and other essential services with the assistance of foreign donor agencies.
