Nov 18, Colombo: Sri Lankan Parliament today adjourned nearly two hours earlier than the scheduled time as the listed speakers for the evening debates were not present in the House.
According to the parliament sources Joseph Michael Perera, Ravi Karunanayaka and Dayasiri Jayasekara of the main opposition United National Party, Tamil National Alliances' S.Kishore and Minister Mervyn Silva were listed to speak in this evening’s debates on Foreign Affairs Ministry.
It is reported that Jayasekara was scheduled to raise an adjournment question at 5:00 p.m.
Since all the four speakers and MP Jayasekara were absent JHU MP Ven Udawatte Nanda Thero presiding the House at the time had decided to adjourn the parliament at 3:20 p.m.
