* Four civilians kidnapped by suspected LTTE cadres in North Central Sri Lanka

Nov 18, Anuradhapura: A group of suspected LTTE cadres had kidnapped four civilians who had ventured into the jungles at Rathmale in Horowpathana, North Central Sri Lanka yesterday evening.

Police said the kudnappers had detained a group of nine civilians first and then released five of them.

According to the sources the kidnappers have released the five civilians demanding them to bring back food and other essential items in exchange for the release of others.

The suspected group has handed them Rs. 40,000 to purchase their needs.

The released civilians have alerted the police and security forces have started a special search operation to find the kidnapped persons.
