* President holds discussions with Indian and Nepali leaders

Nov 13, New Delhi: On the sidelines of the BIMSTEC Summit, Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa held bilateral meetings today Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Nepali Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.

Rajapaksa met Prime Minister Singh this afternoon to discuss the situation in Sri Lanka and the steps the government has taken to ensure the welfare of the displaced Tamils in the North.

Reiterating his stance on a ceasefire with the rebels, President informed the Indian Prime Minister a ceasefire is only possible when the Tigers lay down their arms and his government is always ready for negotiations.
