May 09, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Court of Appeals yesterday rejected a petition filed by People's Liberation Organization of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE) requesting a postponement to the May 10 provincial council election in the East.
Democratic People’s Liberation Front (DPLF), the political wing of PLOTE filed a writ application challenging the rejection of its nomination papers for the PC elections and asking Court to issue an interim order restraining the elections.
The Court held the view that there is no requirement to postpone the elections at this moment.
