* Breakaway LTTE leader released from UK prison

May 09, Colombo: Breakaway LTTE leader V. Muralitharan, also known as Karuna Amman, who was being held in prison in the United Kingdom on immigration charges, has been released by British authorities.

Reports said the former Tiger rebel leader would remain in immigration detention in Britain.

Karuna was arrested a few months ago for entering the UK on a forged diplomatic passport.
