May 08, Colombo: Trading on selective counters helped indices to buoyant positively at the Colombo Bourse today.
The All Share Price Index (ASPI) gained 4.33 points (0.16%) to close the day at 2646.96 while liquid Milanka Price Index (MPI) gained 7.48 points (0.23%) to end the day at 3250.01.
Turnover for the day registered at Rs.281.12million. Central Finance Company PLC (CFIN) saw a block of 146,300 shares been trade at Rs.233.0 to top turnover wise contributing Rs.35.27 million to day’s turnover.
Meanwhile Colombo Fort Land and Building Company Ltd. (CFLB) peaked volume wise after 972,700 shares changed hands within a price range of Rs.22.75 and Rs.25.00 posting the third highest turnover of Rs23.61million. Other top contributors for the day’s turnover include Royal Ceramics Company PLC (RCL) with Rs.24.97 million, Kelani Tyres PLC (TYRE) with Rs.21.91 million and Sri Lanka Telekom PLC (SLTL) with Rs.17.57 million. Sierra Cables Ltd. (SIRA), Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC (DPL) and RCL followed volume wise with 706,700 shares, 555,800 shares and 504,100 shares respectively.
Price gainers outnumbered price losers numbering 63 to 59. Foreigners were heavier on selling side to bring a net outflow of Rs.14.49 million.
