May 07, Colombo: Manilal Fernando was appointed today to the Director Board of Aitken Spence PLC.

Fernando presently holds chairmanship of many companies including Holcim (Lanka) Ltd and Shipping and Cargo Logistics (Pvt) Ltd, the agents for Hyundai Shipping. He also serves as a Director of several other businesses including Guardian Investment Trust Ltd. and Global Cement (Pvt) Ltd.

Fernando holds many responsibilities in the field of sports administration. He is the Vice President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and is the FIFA Development Officer for the Asian region. He is also the Vice President of the National Olympic Committee since 1990.
