May 6, Colombo: The market saw a dull trading day with negative sentiments as All Share Price Index (ASPI) lost 2.73 points (0.10 per cent) to close the day at 2645.50 and Milanka Price Index (MPI) slumped 1.92 points (0.06 per cent) to end the day at 3249.07.
Turnover for the day touched Rs.269.66 million. The Fortress Resorts (RHTL) witnessed a crossing of 3.50 million shares been traded at a flat price of Rs.8.00. As a result the counter topped volume wise with 3.54 million contributing second highest Rs.28.32 million to the day’s turnover.
Meanwhile Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC (DIST) saw a block of 384,600 shares changing hands at Rs.109.0 to peak turnover wise contributing Rs.46.58 million. Further Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (KVAL) also saw a parcel of 150,000 shares been traded at a flat price of Rs.75.0 as the counter became third highest turnover wise with Rs.24.57 million. East West Properties Ltd. (EAST), Valibel Power Erathna PLC (VPEL) and Sierra Cables Ltd. (SIRA) were next in line volume wise with 1.75 million shares, 1.23 million shares and 1.19 million shares respectively.
Other top contributors for the day’s turnover include EAST with Rs.21.42 million and Namunukaula Plantations PLC (NAMU) with Rs.16.09 million. Foreigners were more prominent on buying side to bring a net inflow of Rs.66.49 million.
