May 05, Colombo: Seventeen representatives of Association of Asian Election Authorities met with Sri Lanka's Commissioner for Election, Dayananda Dissanayake this morning.

The 17 representatives from 10 countries discussed their role with the Election Commissioner on conducting a free and fair election for the Eastern Province. They also, met with the police chiefs responsible for the security in the province.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioners (election) for Batticaloa, Ampara and Trincomalee district met with Election Commissioner to report the present progress for the forthcoming election. The assistant commissioners informed the Election Commissioner that a peaceful election could be held in the Eastern Province on 10 May.
