May 05, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today appointed the former Additional Secretary, K. A. George Michael as the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism.

George Michael having obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura followed by a Master of Business Administration has served in many government establishments.

He entered in to Sri Lanka Administration Service (SLAS) and served in different capacities in the Housing Department, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Public Administration, and Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) before assuming office as Senior Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism before being appointed as the Permanent Secretary.
