* New President elected for SLIM Sri Lanka chapter

May 04, Colombo: Regional Head, Greater Colombo Region of Hatton National Bank, R M P Dayawansa has been elected President of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) uncontested for the year 2008-9.

He takes over the reign from Sarath Fernando who completed a successful year. Dayawansa is the twenty ninth president of the Institute and follows the footsteps of the likes of Stanley Jayewardene, Lalith de Mel, Eardley Perera etc. who had been guiding lights of the Institute in the past.

Holding an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, he is a Chartered Marketer of the Chartered institute of Marketing - (UK) and has served the Council of Management of SLIM for several years.

He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL) and in addition to being a marketer and a banker, is in the process of finalizing a research paper for the National Diploma in Human Resources Management at the Institute of Personal Management (IPM.)
