* Blue Chips support turnover at Colombo Stock Exchange

May 31, Colombo: Sri Lanka stocks bounced back on Friday at the Colombo Stock Exchange after closing on a negative note on the first four days of this week.

The All Share Price Index rose 31.72 points (1.27%) today while the liquid Milanka Price Index gained 65.56 (2,18%) to close at 3,066.88. The Bourse posted a turnover of 489,707,381.00 million rupees trading 13,123,749 million shares.

However over the week All Share Price Index slipped 47.42 points (1.82%) while Milanka Price Index fell 55.46 points (1.78%).

Activity remained low overall except on Thursday and Friday fueled by a few notable transactions on key blue chips that pushed turnover to higher levels.

Turnover on Thursday was mainly supported by blue chips Sri Lanka Telecom and John Keells Holdings.
