* Hand grenade explosion in Sri Lanka capital injures three

May 31, Colombo: Initial reports from Colombo say at least three people were injured in a hand grenade explosion in Wellawatta, a suburb of capital Colombo.

According to the Police, three civilians suffered injuries due to the explosion occurred in densely populated area along the Colombo- Galle road.

Victims were rushed to the Kalubowila teaching hospital, police sources said.

Another explosion at Grandpass in the capital Colombo blew up an electrical transformer a short while ago. The cause of the explosion is not known yet.
