May 31, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan said that the only way to find a solution to the conflict is to devolve powers that are vested in the central government.
Speaking at the 24th Chief Ministers’ Conference held today in Badulla Chief Minister Chandrakanthan said that the provincial council system is not currently fully implemented and it’s only limited to its name.
He was appointed as the chairman of the Chief Ministers’ Conference today in Badulla for the next four months. The Conference also decided to conduct the next session in Batticaloa.
Chandrakanthan was elected as the Eastern Province Chief Minister following the provincial council elections held on May 10.
