May 21, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Marxist political party, the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), will dispatch a team of relief workers along with a medical team to assist in relief activities after the Sichuan earthquake in China.

A team from the ‘Red Star Relief Task Force’ will undertake the visit to China to support earthquake victims. JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe revealed this when he met the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Ye Dabo in Colombo.

The Chinese Ambassador has expressed his support for the JVP leader’s proposal.
