May 16, Colombo: The death toll from the suicide explosion in the capital today had risen to ten while the casualty figure decreased to 84, sources said.

The national hospital sources said that eight were already dead when they were brought in and two policemen succumbed to their injuries after admission.

A suicide bomber on a motorcycle triggered the blast as he slammed into a bus carrying policemen on a busy street in Colombo, near the President's office and military headquarters in the high security zone.
