May 15, Colombo: Starting from today until the 25th of May Sri Lanka Defence Ministry has enforced special security measures in the country for the upcoming Wesak festival, the Media Center for National Security said.

Additional Police teams have been deployed at places that special religious activities are taking place during this period.

The Police also urged the public to be vigilant about suspicious activities and people in crowded areas and to report any such activities to the hotlines at 118 and 119.
