May 13, Colombo: A suspected LTTE gunman shot at two police officers in Batticaloa last night (12), the police said.

One of the officers succumbed to his injuries at the Batticaloa hospital. The other victim is being treated at the hospital, police said.

Police sources said the two police officers attached to Kattankudi police station were leaving after their duties when they were targeted by a suspected LTTE pistol man at Arasadi junction in Batticaloa last night.
