May 12, Colombo: Negative sentiments kept indexes down as All Share Price Index (ASPI) lost 9.51 points (0.36%) to close the day at 2631.73 and Milanka Price Index (MPI) dipped 21.29 points (0.66%) to end the day at 3203.38.

Turnover for the day registered at Rs.110.04Mn. Tess Agro PLC (TESS) topped volume wise after 4.63Mn shares been traded within a price range of Rs.1.10 and Rs.1.30. Meanwhile Cargills Ceylon PLC (CARG) led turnover wise posting Rs.18.19Mn to day’s turnover.

Other notable trades volume wise include Ceylon Glass Company PLC (GLAS), Sierra Cabels PLC (SIRA)and East West Propoerties Ltd. (EAST) with 921,100 shares, 517,700 shares and 409,700 shares respectively. Ceylon Thaeters Ltd. (CTHR), Chemanex PLC (CHMX)and TESS were other main contributors for the day’s turnover with Rs. 12.74 Mn, Rs. 6.97 Mn and Rs. 5.54 Mn.

Price losers outnumbered price gainers numbering 40 to 84.
