Mar 27, Colombo: The director of the film 'Prabhakaran', Thusara Peiris has been assaulted by a mob in India when he went to collect the Tamil version of the film in Chennai.
Peiris was assaulted by a violent mob of more than 1,000 which included Indian film directors, producers and technicians, when he went to the Gemini Colour Laboratory in Chennai.
Later India’s intelligence wing, RAW and Indian police officials have rescued him and sent him home. Thusara, who has received several injuries, is now undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
He completed the Sinhala version of his film, a story on the ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka and recruiting of child soldiers and gone to India to complete the Tamil version.
