* SriLankan Airlines launches new frequent flyer program

Mar 27, Colombo: SriLankan Airlines, Sri Lanka's award winning national career yesterday launched a new frequent flyer program called 'SmiLes' to add more value to its loyal customers.

According to the Head of Worldwide Passenger Sales, Manoj Gunawardena, the program commencing from Apr 1 offers wide range of rewards to the passengers. “SmiLes will be positioned as the frequent flyer program that rewards and delights,” Mr. Gunawardena said commenting on the new program.

SmiLes offer three categories of membership, Gold, Silver and Blue up on the accrued miles of travel. All members can exchange their miles for rewards such as free air tickets to Europe, the Mid East, South Asia, and Far East. According to the membership category there is a range of other benefits available to the passengers such as excess baggage, pre assigned seating, priority waiting lists, family bonus, etc.

The membership can be obtained by filling out a form available at a SriLankan ticketing office in Sri Lanka or overseas, onboard the plane, BIA or at SmiLes service centre at WTO Colombo. Those members of “Skyward”, the existing frequent flyer program that end on Mar 31 can transfer their miles to the new program.
