Mar 26, Colombo: British parliamentarian and the Shadow Secretary of State for Defence Dr. Liam Fox, is currently in Sri Lanka to seek a political consensus between the government and the opposition parties.

Dr. Fox arrived here following an invitation extended by the Sri Lanka Foreign Ministry. He is scheduled to hold talks with the Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe, Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama and Peace Secretariat Head Dr. Rajiva Wijesinghe, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry here said.

In 1997 he mediated a political consensus known as “The Fox Agreement” between the two main political parties.
