Mar 25, Kelaniya: Sri Lanka is to construct four flyovers by the end of this year, Road Development Minister, Jeyaraj Fernandopulle said today.
The Minister was speaking at the ceremony where President Mahinda Rajapaksa this morning unveiled the new flyover at Kelaniya rail crossing.
Construction of the flyover in Panadura is to commence on next Monday, the Minister said.
Minister Fernandopulle said that 20 flyovers are to be built within the next 4 years. British government is to provide financial assistance to these projects, in addition to the construction of 222 steel bridges, he added.
