* Sri Lanka military says dozens of Tamil Tigers, STF sergeant killed in yesterday's fighting

Mar 20, Colombo: Sri Lanka defence sources said at least 21 Tamil Tigers were killed and many others were injured during yesterday's offensives conducted in the northern battlefronts of Mannar, Vavuniya, Muhamalai and Welioya areas.

A sergeant of Sri Lanka Police Special Task Force was killed in a clash occurred in Lahugala in Ampara district last night. Defence sources said another STF personal was injured in an anti personal mine explosion in the Kanchkadaichchi Aru area in Ampara.

According to the defence sources, police commandoes are engaged in mop up operations against the Tamil Tigers in the South Eastern jungles.
