* Nominations called for Eastern Provincial council polls in Sri Lanka

Mar 14, Colombo: The gazette notification calling nominations for the provincial council election in the Eastern Province has been released.

According to the Election Commissioner, the nominations will be accepted from Mar 27 to Apr 3. However, the exact date of the election is yet to be finalized, the sources added.

The elections are to be held in Ampara, Batticaloa and Trincomalee districts.
