Mr. Wickramanayake said the war could end this year.

Mar 12, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake says that Sri Lankan diplomats engaged in foreign missions are not strong enough to deal with the propaganda network of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

He revealed that some countries, having been misled by the Tigers’ false propaganda, do not provide weapons to Sri Lanka even for money. The Prime Minister made these comments at a meeting with Sri Lanka Freedom Party representatives at his office yesterday evening.

The Prime Minister also said that the greatest victory that the country has achieved in the last two years is the attitudinal shift that terrorism can be defeated. He said that the Tigers are now facing the final battle and the war can be ended by the end of this year.
