Mar 01, Colombo: A police officer who was critically injured in the suspected LTTE suicide blast succumbed to his injuries last night at the Colombo National Hospital. The others wounded in the blast are still undergoing treatments.

Seven people including three police officers were injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a house in Modera yesterday morning during a cordon and search operation.

Police has received a tip from a civilian that there is possible arm storage in the lodge and the search operations were underway when the bomb was exploded.
