These emergency aid materials include 300 pieces of sleeping pads, 25 sets of water purification systems and 27 water tanks. The items distributed through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will be provided for the relief of the flood affected populations in the seven districts.

The Japanese Government has decided to provide these relief items as a response to the request made by the government of Sri Lanka. The recent floods have caused immense damage to the affected areas, interrupting all economic and social activities in the districts.
