June 26, Colombo: All Share Price Index (ASPI) remained on red as Milanka Price Index (MPI ) improved on the back of increased interest on blue chips. ASPI marginally dropped by 0.71 points (0.03%) to close at 2479.21 while MPI edged up 9.95 points (0.33%) to end at 3019.91.
The turnover for the day touched Rs.274.32Mn. The day’s only crossing was on blue chip Aitken Spence PLC (SPEN) as 69,900 shares been traded at a flat price of Rs.540. The counter is also the second highest contributor for the day after posting Rs.48.60Mn to day’s turnover.
The investors have not lost their interest on Vialibel Power Erathna PLC (VPEL) after the huge trading on the days passed as VPEL topped volume wise after 3.15Mn shares changed hands at Rs.4.20 to contribute Rs.13.25Mn to total turnover. Hemas Holdings PLC (HHL), Colombo Land and Development Company Ltd. (CLND) and Dialog Telekom PLC (DIAL) followed volume wise with 1.38Mn shares, 682,400 shares and 452,800 shares respectively.
Other major contributors to the day’s turnover include Sri Lanka Telecom PLC (SLTL) and DIAL with Rs.7.73Mn and Rs.6.58Mn respectively. Price losers outnumbered price gainers by 69 to 49. Foreigners were prominent on selling side to bring a large net outflow of Rs.150.18Mn.
