* Two Senior Tamil Tigers killed in air raids

July 09, Colombo: Sri Lanka Air Force spokesman Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara today said that two senior Tamil Tiger leaders were killed in night air raids carried out on identified targets in the Vaddakachchi area yesterday.

Speaking at the weekly media briefing at the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS), he said that the two cadres were identified as self-styled Majors of the rebel outfit.

Meanwhile Air Force fighter jets attacked a flotilla of Tamil Tiger boats in the Mullaitivu sea, 1 km from the shore. Wing Commander Nanayakkara said that one boat was destroyed in the air raid that was carried out around 8 am today.
