July 31, Colombo: Sri Lanka Health Ministry says that it will launch a program to diagnose those affected with breast cancers and uterine cancers free of charge.
Speaking at an awareness campaign at the National Blood Bank, Health Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva today said his Ministry is to launch this program with the intention of identifying the cancer patients at early stages to fight the disease.
He said the program will be funded with the aid provided by the International Cancer Research Centre in Leon. The program will especially focus on school teachers, public and private sector employees. He added that a special program will be launched for the benefit of unemployed too.
