July 22, Colombo: The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BoI) has signed an agreement with Iris Solutions, a subsidiary of Iris Technologies in Dubai for a project to develop software and provide IT enabled services to the local market.

The investment for Iris Solutions is sponsored by Iris Technologies, a UAE based company which has operations in Bahrain, Qatar and Oman. The project is an investment of over US $ 150,000. This will create around 20 employment opportunities and will be located in Colombo. The venture is expected to commence operations in August.

Iris Solutions will offer the local market a premier web-based platform named GettWell to manage health insurance. GettWell, a unique concept in health insurance is totally web based and it integrates Health Insurance Companies, Hospitals, Corporations, Pharmacies, Laboratories, and Medical Practitioners for provision of a cost effective and transparent health care access.

The venture is initially expected to work with 20 clinics, an equivalent number of pharmacies and laboratories spread across major locations of Colombo city. In addition to the above leading insurance companies offering health insurance are also being contracted to complete the process of integration.
