July 19, Colombo: Sri Lanka government announced that an European Union parliamentary delegation will arrive in the country on July 20 on a fact finding mission in the Eastern region.
During the visit the EU delegation, headed by its Chairman Robert Evans, is expected to visit the Eastern Province to witness the development in the area after the recent Provincial Council polls and to meet the new Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan.
The delegation, consisting of a cross section of the political groups and member states represented in the EU will also meet with key members of the Cabinet, political parties, and the media during their six-day visit.
