July 01, Colombo: The United States Embassy in Colombo, which has been closed to the public since June 25 will be reopen today for normal operations, an Embassy statement said.

The Embassy was closed following the discovery of a suspicious powder on the Embassy premises. However the Embassy said that after an investigation it was determined that the powder did not pose a danger.

The Embassy added that all visa and other appointments postponed by the closure are being rescheduled on an individual basis.
