* Japanese donation and new Auditor General at Sri Lanka's Temple Trees

Jan 03, Colombo: The Japan-Sri Lanka Friendship Association donated 100 wheelchairs and 500 pairs of eyeglasses to the Sri Lanka government, while the country also gained a new Auditor General today at Temple Trees.

A member of the Japan-Sri Lanka Friendship Association presented President Mahinda Rajapaksa with the donation this evening.

Ministers Lakshman Yapa Abeywardene and S.M. Chandrasena, Lions Club members Dr. Lal Thilakarathne and Hemasiri de Silva, and Ven. Hanwalle Dammaloka Thero were also present.

Also today at Temple Trees, President Rajapaksa appointed S. Sarnajothi as Auditor General, presenting him with an appointment letter at a ceremony this evening. President's Secretary Lalith Weeratunga is also pictured.
