* Sri Lanka government to build a cultural centre in hill country

Jan 22, Kandy: Sri Lanka Ministry of Cultural affairs laid the foundation stone for a Cultural Centre at Pallekale, Kundasale yesterday.

The Ministry sources said that the government has planned to spend Rs.465 million for the new building that spreads in five acres of land.

The new Cultural Centre will include, a fully equipped art gallery, library, drama theatre, and lecture halls. The project is expected to be completed within six years.

Minister of Cultural affairs, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena attended as the chief guest at the occasion.
