Jan 22, Colombo: The United Kingdom and India together have called on Sri Lanka to come with a credible accord on devolving power to the country.
“There is no military solution to the conflict in Sri Lanka,” British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, said in a statement after talks in the Indian capital, New Delhi, yesterday.
The government needs to “put forward a credible devolution package as a key contribution to finding a political settlement acceptable to all communities within the framework of united Sri Lanka,” Singh and Brown said.
